2017 Nude Beaches Survey - Results

Some weeks ago we launched a survey with questions to define your favourite nude beach. We have received more than 100 answers combining the English and Spanish versions, and this is what you have said.

We have a clear outcome: our respondents like beaches in a natural environment and don't need many things to enjoy the place. We can conclude that at the end "naturism" means more than just nudity.
The composite picture of the "perfect" nude beach would be a long strip of sand in an unspoilt area. A place where people could sunbathe au naturel, walk along the shore or swim in calm waters. It does not have to be empty, but for sure it should not be overcrowded.
In fact, it's not a big deal if the only way to get there is by leaving the car at a certain distance and then walking to the beach, provided the path is not too difficult.
The icing on the cake would be a beach bar and maybe lifeguards, but only basic facilities, such as toilets and dust bins are required.
That ideal beach would be clothing optional (although obviously being naked would be the preferred option), and it would be possible to take pictures, provided the people in the photos agree, of course.

At least, this is our summary of the answers we have received. You can read the full results below and draw your own conclusions.

Based on our followers in social networks, we expected that most of the answers would come from men. But we were shocked when we discovered that only 9% of our respondents identify themselves as female or non-binary. We don't know how this lack of variety can affect the conclusions, but it's a sad indicator of the continuous underrepresentation of women in our little nudist community. The same applies to age, with a remarkable 87% of midle-age respondents.

Happily, other parameters show a different distribution. For example, we have a good representation of new and experienced nudists, and a well balanced distribution of members and non-members of nudist associations.

We can try to analyze the effect of these parameters on the answers. First, it's clear that nudism is experienced in a different way in Europe and North America. We have chosen the three countries with the higher number of respondents (which combined account for a 75% of the total) to compare their answers to the questions about the "rules" that should apply in a nude beach. Results for Spain and the UK are quite similar, but for the United States the number of people that think that nudity should be compulsory and photography forbidden doubles those in the other countries.

We can see similar (or opposite) trends when we consider the years as a nudist, or the membership in a naturist association. We don't have enough data to extract statistically significant conclussions, but these findings would certainly deserve a broader study.

We have always said that we wanted to hear your voice in mynudebeaches.com. Well, in this case that's totally true. Thanks to everybody who answer our survey. We appreciate the time you have taken and really love your comments and suggestions.

I have dedicated most of my free time in the last years to discover the world, and beaches offer some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. The next step was to enjoy them as naturally as possible, which obviously mean without clothes. Now I think it is time for me to share this liberating experience and try to help others to discover it.
