Playa Amarilla

Playa Amarilla is the second of a series of nude beaches in the unspoilt area west of Bolnuevo, surrounded by cliffs and right in front of Cueva de Lobos islet.

Last visited: April 2016

How to get there

From motorway AP-7 take the exit to Mazarron and then continue along road RM-D6 towards Bolnuevo. Follow then Pedro Lopez Meca Avenue across the town in parallel to the beach. When you reach a square with some trees, the street becomes a narrow unpaved road. Here you can see the first sign pointing to the nude beaches. You have to drive along this road for 2 km (be careful, there are only a few sections wide enough for two cars). There are more than one path to the parking areas next to Playa Amarilla, even one that let you drive down to the beach itself.

The beach

Playa Amarilla is 200 m long, only 10 m wide and surrounded by vertical cliffs made of a yellowish stone. The only access is through a ravine in the middle of the beach.
Although there are some sandy patches, in general the beach is composed of shingle and stones of different sizes, quite similar to the area on top of the cliffs.

Nothing in this area as soon as you leave Bolnuevo

All beaches in this area are designated as nude beaches, and almost everybody there is naked.

Other nude beaches in the area

  • Cueva de Lobos
  • Cala Grua
  • Cala Leño
  • Cala Desnuda

I like:
  • Really quiet, very few people there
I don't like:
  • Very narrow

I have dedicated most of my free time in the last years to discover the world, and beaches offer some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. The next step was to enjoy them as naturally as possible, which obviously mean without clothes. Now I think it is time for me to share this liberating experience and try to help others to discover it.
