Chile

Chile occupies a long, narrow strip of land in South America between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It stretches over 4,300 km north to south, but only 350 km at its widest point east to west. This makes the 5th longest coastline in the world (78,563 km).

The diverse climate of Chile ranges from the world's driest desert in the north through a Mediterranean climate in the center, humid subtropical in Easter Island, to an oceanic climate, including alpine tundra and glaciers in the east and south.

Tourism in Chile has experienced sustained growth over the last few decades. The main attractions for tourists are places of natural beauty situated in the extreme zones of the country, while tourism in coastal beach towns is concentrated mostly in the summer (December to March).

Public nudity is usually not allowed in Chile, and even if practising nudism in a remote place is not really illegal, you may run into problems. It wasn't until 2000 that the first (and only) nude beach was authorized in the country. Since then, at least a couple of other places have been proposed, but the initiatives have not succeeded.

Below you can find a map with the only official nude beach in Chile (Playa Luna), plus other remote beaches where nudism is more or less common. When we cannot identify the exact beach, an orange circle indicates the approximate location. There is little reliable information, and new urban developments can change the status of these beaches.
If you plan to visit them, please check with local people if nude sunbathing is possible there.

          Author & Editor

I have dedicated most of my free time in the last years to discover the world, and beaches offer some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. The next step was to enjoy them as naturally as possible, which obviously mean without clothes. Now I think it is time for me to share this liberating experience and try to help others to discover it.
