Playa Negrete

Just a few kilometres from the crowded Mar Menor beaches, the Calblanque Regional Park is a beautifully preserved section of the Murcia coast. Playa Negrete is the second of the beaches in the western side of the park, not far from the main parking areas.

Last visited: april 2016

How to get there

From motorway RM-12 towards Cape Palos, use service road after exit 9 and follow it for 1 km before turning right into the concrete paved road that takes you into Calblanque Regional Park. At the end of the long straight road, turn right to get to the information point. The first parking area is here.
You can continue down an unpaved road towards the sea. Here is the second and largest parking area that even have sunshade to protect cars.
It is also possible to continue to the third and last parking area where the road ends. How far you can continue by car depends on the availability of parking places (it can be difficult in the summer).
Facing the sea from the last parking area you can see a wooden pathway on the left that leads to Playa Larga (a textile beach). The path to Playa Negrete is the one on the right. It is easy and only 100 m long.

The beach

Playa Negrete is a 500 m long and 30 m wide sandy beach. Several rocky outcrops on the right side create three coves that can be isolated from the main beach at high tide. But don't worry, should this happen, you can easily walk over the cliff and the rocks, which are just a few metres high.
The sea is quite flat and you can only find some shingle in the shoreline.

Facilities

Nothing at all in this natural park.

Nudism

This is a traditionally nude beach, and there is a "Nudist beach" sign in the path to Playa Negrete, so it is possible to take your clothes off anywhere. But since at low tide you can walk from the textile Playa Larga beach, nudists tend to concentrate on the secluded coves on the right end.
I visited Playa Negrete on a cloudy day in April, so there were few people there. At that time it was 50% nude - 50% textile, but in summertime textiles can outnumber nudists.

Other nude beaches in the area

  • Cala Parreño
  • Cala de los Dentones
  • El Portus
I like:
  • Beautiful landscape
I don't like:
  • Not far from mass tourist resorts, it can be overcrowded and the access very difficult

Author & Editor

I have dedicated most of my free time in the last years to discover the world, and beaches offer some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. The next step was to enjoy them as naturally as possible, which obviously mean without clothes. Now I think it is time for me to share this liberating experience and try to help others to discover it.
