Baroña

Baroña is a historic place for two reasons. On one hand, the remains of a Celtic castro, a prehistoric settlement next to the beach. More recently, this was one of the first beaches where nudists claim for their rights when democracy finally came to Spain in the 70's. They got it after continuous fights with the police and the neighbours. We have to thank those pioneers of the "tetiñas free" ("free boobies") movement, because nowadays we have hundreds of beaches in Galicia and Spain where nudism is accepted.

How to get there

Getting to this beach is not easy. The best option is to follow the signs to the "Castro de Baroña", next to the beach. From Porto do Son, take road AC-550 to the south. 4 km later we find a restaurant on the right. We should try to park here, but it is difficult to find a place. We should probably park in the road shoulder.
From here there is a 500 m long walk through a forest. At the beginning, follow the path to the forest and look for the signpost that shows the detour to the beach. Don't worry if you get lost in the plethora of sandy paths, just reach the shore and then turn left to the south.

The beach

Baroña is not very big, only 400 m long and 40 m wide, with golden sand and rocks on the right end. In this section of the Spanish coast the sea (the Atlantic Ocean) is usually quite cold even in summer, so you need to be brave to go for a dip.
Undoubtely the best in the beach are the views. It is in a rural environment and a single house is the only modern building on view. Apart from that, only green fields and forests. Looking to the north you can see the little rocky peninsula with the Celtic settlement, only 100 m  from the beach. If you are interested in history or archeology you can not leave without visiting it.

I have dedicated most of my free time in the last years to discover the world, and beaches offer some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth. The next step was to enjoy them as naturally as possible, which obviously mean without clothes. Now I think it is time for me to share this liberating experience and try to help others to discover it.
